Obachan was a villager that sells dumplings at her family's market stand.
History
The Lair of Tanabrax (flashback)
Obachan was selling her dumplings at the marketplace when Garmadon and Wu arrived. She and the former brother had a little squabble over the biggest dumpling before her granddaughter, Hana, arrived and told her to just give them both a plate of dumplings. Wu then asked them about staying for the night but Obachan immediately objected, making him suspicious. She eventually allowed her granddaughter to tell them but cut off her off quickly when she was about to say too much. She also, after much persuading, agreed to let them stay in Hana's brother's room for the night since they were ninja and could take care of themselves.
That night, Wu and Garmadon saved a man they didn't know, she later admitted that she was wrong about them and was pleased that Hana had convinced them to stay. She and Hana then told them what was happening in their village and asked them for help.
The night after, Obachan threatened a lead puppet Garmadon brought back, Moody, to give information or else she would turn him into a salad bowl. Moody starts talking and they realized that his boss, Tanabrax was trying to grow an immortal army. After the conversation, Obachan tricked Moody into staying and rallied up the rest of the village to train with Garmadon until sunrise.
When the sun rose, Obachan went off with the other volunteers. They ran into three dozen puppets and they kept them busy while Garmadon, Hana, and Moody went ahead to find Tanabrax.
Later on, Obachan threw Moody up into the air so he could bring in the sunlight and disintegrate Tanabrax for good. After the fight she convinced Moody and Bunch to let the villagers return to normal life instead of remaining as puppets forever. Afterwards, she directed the villagers out of the lair and once they returned, she instructed everyone to prepare a feast. She also helped Wu and Garmadon hide Tanabrax's medallion for good.

Despite being initially cold towards the boys, Obachan meant no malice towards them, as she was concerned for their safety due to the village's ongoing terrorization by Tanabrax and his puppet army. She began to warm up to them considerably however after the brothers demonstrated their fighting potential and willingness to defend the village against Tanabrax. She would soon come to respect Garmadon especially, showing appreciation for his efforts in training the villagers to defend themselves against Tanabrax's puppets and would later join him on the front lines to confront Tanabrax in his lair.
