Delrose

Navigation: OverviewGallery

Delrose (Korean: 델로우즈, RR: Delloujeu), better known by the title White Tail (Korean: 흰 꼬리) is a transcendent on the side of the filial duty addicts, who was in charge of the Guardverse. He had dealings mainly with Panuz of Achates City. His current fate is unknown.

Delrose's virtual reality recreation served as Sung Hyunjae's host body in the virtual reality dungeon.

Appearance

The only details of Delrose's appearance are from when his virtual reality recreation was possessed by Sung Hyunjae; as such, it is unknown how much was actually from Delrose's original looks and how much was from Sung Hyunjae. In these brief appearances, Delrose was a tall man with fair skin, white hair, and gold eyes, described as seeming reptilian or feline;[1] he had a leopard-like furred tail.[2]

It is possible, given Delrose's origins, that his humanoid appearance was largely due to Sung Hyunjae. As his original self, he may have had more feline or draconic traits.

Personality

Delrose's original personality was never directly shown in the story. He is described as being powerful but not relatively intelligent, with the nature of a "beast".[3]

History

Delrose was born as an ordinary cat. By chance, he happened to prey on a baby dragon; consuming the beast made him transform into a half-dragon, which he then added to by preying on all the dragons of his world, becoming transcendentally powerful. However, as an animal by nature, his intelligence could not surpass that of other naturally-intelligent transcendents.[3]

In the original Guardverse, Delrose acted as the filial duty addicts' representative. He formed a contract with Panuz of Achates City, agreeing to provide ongoing help in order to make Achates City powerful enough to conquer the other cities, taking the lives of S-rank and higher Guards or special skill bearers as his payment.[1] This help consisted of both physical strength in the form of high-rank Guards or abilities, along with information; a condition in the contract required that any information Delrose provided must be true, preventing him from lying. For an unknown reason, Delrose also targeted and killed Alpha's sister, perhaps due to her Caregiver title; when Panuz brought Alpha to meet Delrose, he revealed this directly, along with the fact that most Caregivers were similarly targeted and killed by the immoral people.[4]

Delrose's eventual fate is unknown, including whether he survived the destruction of the Guardverse.

Abilities

Very little is known about Delrose's original stats and skills. As a transcendent, he must have been at minimum L-rank. He was described as being very powerful due to consuming all his world's dragons, though with limited intellect as he originated from a simple animal, which may imply a relatively low Mentality.[3] In Delrose's VR recreation, Sung Hyunjae did display an ability to manipulate magic to transform others, turning the VR Panuz into a monster with both leopard-like and draconic traits, an influence likely arising from Delrose's origins.[1]

Relationships

Panuz

Panuz was Delrose's main contact in Achates City; he would bring him sacrificial Guards in exchange for information. Given VR Panuz's initial readiness to challenge who he believed to be White Tail,[1] it is possible their relationship was frank and casual, with Delrose not taking much offense at being challenged.
