Montys (モグ Mogu?) are a species of brown moles. They appear as enemies in Super Mario Galaxy. They are seen residing in closable holes and pop out to throw wrenches at their enemies.
Profile
Physical description
A brown Monty wears a striped blue-and-white bandana.
Behavior
A Monty starts out inside it's hole, as Mario/Luigi approach the hole, the Monty pops out. If the Monty see the plumbers, it will throw wrenches that will harm him. Montys are also very agile as they quickly duck back in their holes if the plumbers try to attack them, however, they can still be stopped as shooting a Star Bit at a Monty or ground pounding near a Monty can stun them. When stunned, stomping or performing a Star Spin on them defeats the Monty.
In Super Mario Galaxy
Montys make their first appearance in Battlerock Galaxy as enemies. They make later appearances in Gusty Garden Galaxy and Dreadnought Galaxy.

Trivia
- The Monty's attack patterns are similar to that of the Rocky Wrench (another mole enemy found throughout the Mario series). Despite this, Montys are unrelated to Rocky Wrenches.
