Cluckbooms (also called Bomb Chickens or simply Roosters) are chicken-like enemies that appear in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. They fly around and periodically drop explosive eggs.
Description
Cluckbooms resemble chickens. They have green markings around their circular eyes, which have black pupils. Their wings are yellow, and the top of their head has a spiky mohawk-like comb. Their lower body doesn't have legs, forcing them to fly, instead having a cannon that can drop their bombs.
History
Super Mario Galaxy
Cluckbooms first appear in Dusty Dune Galaxy. They lay egg bombs that explode a few seconds after landing. They can be brought to the ground by using a Star Spin in their vicinity or shooting them down with a Star Bit, causing them to lose control of their flight and plummet. Upon landing, they can be defeated with a ram for Star Bits or stomped on for a Coin. Some Cluckbooms show up after a certain event is activated and must be avoided as they drop their explosive eggs, when the event ends, the Cluckboom simply leaves.
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Cluckbooms can be found in Slipsand Galaxy, where they behave the same as in the previous title. They once again drop explosive eggs on Mario/Luigi which must be avoided and just as before to beat a Cluckboom, Mario/Luigi must either ground it by shooting a Star Bit at it or by Star Spinning at it accurately. This will ground the Cluckboom allowing the plumbers to get a clear chance to finish it off.

Trivia
- The Cluckbooms attack patterns are similar too Coo Coos, a chicken species from Super Mario Sunshine, the Coo Coos drop blotches of Goop down which is similar to the Cluckboom's explosive egg attacks.
