Rikuson (陸孫 (リクソン) ?) is the former aide of Lakan. He was later sent to the Western Capital to be Gyoku-ou's aide.

Appearance

Rikuson is a slender young man in his late 20's. He is described as having delicate features and always retaining composed expression no matter the situation. He has shoulder-length brown hair which is secured in the back with a hair pin.

Personality

A gentle, diligent, and quick-witted person, Rikuson is a very capable official. He is able to stay calm in any situation, a skill he trained into himself as a result of his mother's last words. He is a quick thinker and good at manipulating people (though it is likely for their own good). Due to his diligence, Maomao thinks of him as Gaoshun #2.[2]

Abilities

Facial recognition: Rikuson is able to memorize any face he sees, a skill he likely achieved through training and diligent work rather than pure natural talent.

Background

Rikuson was born into the matriarchal Yi Clan. As a man born into the clan, it was decided for him to "become the wind" and go out to the world at age 15, just like the other men in the clan. He had to learn as much as possible about what the world had to offer until then. Therefore, he would often go between shops and the Shogi hall in order to make connections and learn. In the Shogi hall, he met Lakan and made a deal to work with him in the future.[3]

When he was 13 years old, a mob surrounded his house causing his mother and sister to hide him with Gyokuyou's mother. Incited by Gyoku-ou, the mob accused the Yi Clan of being dishonest about their coal mining and of making claims regarding being rightful heirs to the throne. His mother and sister were killed before his eyes by Gyoku-ou; at his mother's behest, he survived by muffling his voice and not making a sound even after they were killed. After being rescued by Gyokuen and making a deal with him, Rikuson decided to take revenge on Gyoku-ou one day.[3]

A decade later, he was assigned to work as Lakan's aide.

He was sent to the Western Capital to be Gyoku-ou's aide and looked into ways to prevent food shortages from locust plagues. He later assisted farming villages at the front lines of the locust plagues. After the reveal of Gyoku-ou's plans to start a war against Shaoh, Rikuson murdered Gyoku-ou when Chue granted him the time and place to do so.[4] However, he was acquitted of the crime by Lakan through a carefully promoted misunderstanding.[5]
