Sanfan (三番, Sanban?) is the third child to have been taken in by Lakan. She is a minor character in The Apothecary Diaries.

Appearance

She is known to dress in men's clothing both to avoid men underestimating her. According to Lahan and Yao, if she is wearing male clothing, she looks like a particularly handsome man.[1][2] She is tall for a woman but short for a man. [3]

Personality

Abilities

  • Business: As the daughter of a merchant, she was taught the trade. Her ability is acknowledged by Lakan who takes her in despite the weird circumstances compared to his other wards.[1]

Background

Sanfan's family are merchants. After she was almost forced to marry against her will, she ran away and got Lakan to hire her as a servant due to her background as a merchant and her skills.[1] She is in love with Lahan because he judges everyone equally regardless of gender[3] and dislikes Yao as she feels she is a threat to her goal of becoming the lady of the house.[3]
