Nam Yuju (Hangul: 남유주/사토 유키코) is a South Korean-Japanese trainee and contestant on I-LAND2: N/α. She was first revealed on March 21, 2024.
She is also a former contestant on Mnet survival show, CAP-TEEN and Channel A survival show, Stars Awakening.
History
2020-2022:CAP-TEEN, EVERMORE MUSE, Stars Awakening
In 2020, Nam Yuju was announced as a contestant in the Mnet survival show CAP-TEEN .On January 14, 2021, Yuju was revealed as a trainee of Evermore Entertainment's trainee girl group EVERMORE MUSE. In 2022, she participated in the Stars Awakening survival show as a contestant but was eliminated on the seventh episode
2024: I-LAND2: N/α
On March 21, Yuju was revealed as a contestant on I-LAND2: N/α, through the “DDU-DU DDU-DU (Remix)” performance video.[1] Her applicant profile was released on the I-Land X account and the Mnet Plus I-Land website on March 22, 2024.[2][3]
I-LAND 2 Overview
Entrance Test
Yuju ranked 20th in the pre-show Self-Evaluation. During the entrance test, she performed Baggy Jeans by NCT U with Koko and Yui. She got only 2/5 Is, and therefore was moved to the Ground.
Signal Song
Yuju performed the signal song with the other trainees from Ground. The team average for the FINAL LOVE SONG performance was 84, meaning three I-Landers would be dropped to the Ground. Yuju was one of the three Grounders that got chosen to go up to I-LAND.
Seesaw Game
Yuju performed Whistle by BLACKPINK with Kim Minsol, Kim Sujung, Bang Jeemin, Ryu Sarang and Yui, and got an individual score of 81. The Whistle team lost the I-LAND Seesaw battle, and therefore Yuju was moved to the Ground.
