Siren is a supporting character in Generation One of the Transformers franchise. He was based on a figure from the 1988 toyline.
Marvel Comics
Siren first appeared in the Marvel UK-exclusive story "The Big Shutdown" where he and Nightbeat were introduced as two Autobots who had just joined the Ark crew. Nightbeat dragged him along to investigate a mysterious Autobot corpse found on the beach. Siren pursued two figures loitering in the area only to find they and the dead robot were Autobots being hunted by prospective Decepticon leader Thunderwing to prove his worth. The group were then attacked by Thunderwing and Siren and the other survivor, Hosehead, fled back to Nightbeat, who managed to disable Thunderwing by blowing up the dead Autobot next to him. Siren continued to be seen among the Ark crew in other UK-exclusive stories, battling the Deathbringer and another attack by Thunderwing.
He made his first Marvel US appearance in Issue #62, where he, Nightbeat and Hosehead were among the teams searching for the Creation Matrix. Siren was handed a bird statuette by a dying alien and Nightbeat realised it could be used to regenerate the planet they were on. Moments after achieving this, however, the group were gunned down and captured by Thunderwing and the Decepticon Mayhem Squad. Siren resisted torture and the trio were eventually freed by accident, in time to discover Thunderwing had defeated the Autobot Classic Pretenders and gained the Matrix. They stowed away on the shuttle Thunderwing used to infiltrate the Ark, where Siren set the shuttle to self-destruct as Nightbeat harpooned Thunderwing to it just as Hosehead opened the cargo bay doors. Thunderwing was blown out into space, with Siren saving Nightbeat from the same fate.
Siren was confirmed as a permanent member of the Ark crew in Issue #69 and subsequently was caught up in the rampage of the creature caused by Megatron and Ratchet being fused. He was among the Transformers summoned to Cybertron to fight Unicron in Issue #74. During the subsequent battle, he charged into combat on a hover bike only to collide with Jazz. He survived the battle and was among the Autobots caught in a Decepticon ambush on Klo in the last issue, being killed by Bludgeon as he reached for a weapon. He was presumably revived by the Last Autobot.
