Sidetrack is a minor character in the Transformers franchise. He was based on a figure from the 1989 toyline.
Biography
Sidetrack appeared in the Marvel UK comic, making his debut in "A Small War", where he was one of the first Autobots created on Cybertron and serving under Emirate Xaaron. He and the rest of the Battle Patrol were assigned to infiltrate Thunderwing's base to investigate a new secret weapon. There, they found the Decepticons had developed their own Micromasters and had lured them there to capture and reverse engineer them. Although they had been ordered to self-destruct in order to avoid capture, team leader Big Shot refused to do so and the patrol were quickly captured. They were eventually rescued by Roadhandler and the other Autobot Micromasters, but not before the Decepticons had got what they wanted.
The post-movie version of Sidetrack appeared in the Dark Rodimus arc, starting with "The Void". He was among the Autobots evacuating Cybertron en route to Earth. Kup sent him and the rest of the Battle Patrol to search for the missing Rodimus Prime, unaware he had been possessed by Unicron and had sabotaged the ship. Sidetrack was last seen on the bridge as Red Alert brought the ship in for an emergency landing.
