Pincher is a minor character in the Transformers franchise. He was based on a figure from the 1989 toyline and was one of the second wave of Pretenders.
History
Pincher was introduced in the UK-exclusive story "Whose Lifeforce Is It Anyway?" as one of the Autobots on Cybertron. He was the commander of a unit comprising Longtooth and Doubleheader in the struggle with the Decepticons. The three of them were recruited by Emirate Xaaron for the Autobots' quest for the Creation Matrix.
This led into Pincher's only Marvel US appearance in Issue #64. Pincher's team headed to the planet Pequod to investigate sightings of the Klud, a sea monster long believed extinct. Pincher had realised that it might have been revived by the Matrix. However, their first attempt to track it down ended disastrously and resulted in Longtooth being mauled by the creature. Driven mad by his injuries, Longtooth set out to hunt down and kill the Klud. Pincher and Doubleheader pursued him, desperate to stop him committing such a violation of the Autobot code. Their efforts were disrupted by the arrival of Thunderwing's Decepticons, with Pincher and Doubleheader exiting their Pretender shells to battle Spinister and Needlenose. Seeing Longtooth about to kill the Klud, Pincher left Doubleheader to fight the Decepticons alone while he went to talk his friend down. He succeeded, but Thunderwing used the distraction to get a vital clue to the Matrix's whereabouts. Despite this, Pincher considered saving the Klud and thus Longtooth's soul to be a victory.
The post-movie version of the character appeared in "The Void", as one of several Autobots evacuating Decepticon-controlled Cybertron to return to Autobot City on Earth. En route, Pincher and Doubleheader discovered someone had sabotaged the engines, resulting in the ship crashing. It is unclear what happened to Pincher after the crash.
