Yamate Kyoko (山手響子?) is a character in the D4DJ franchise and is the leader of the group Peaky P-key.
Profile
Kyoko is the charismatic leader of Yoba Academy's most popular DJ unit, Peaky P-key.[1] Born and raised in a musical family, she has a natural talent for music but spares no effort to improve her performance. She finds herself strangely attracted to Happy Around!'s energetic performances.[2]
Appearance
Kyoko has wavy medium length light brown hair, with parts of it hanging over her shoulder. Her eyes are a peach color.
Personality
Kyoko is widely known for her "cool" image and good leadership skills, making her the center of attention both on stage and in everyday life. Many of the girls are either passionate fans of her or admire her as a role model in becoming a good vocalist. But in reality, Kyoko is very different from the first impression that people get of her.
She has a more emotional side to her personality. This can be seen in the strong bond she formed with Shinobu after witnessing her talents and embarrassedly sharing her first attempt at writing lyrics with her, or with how impressed she was with Rinku's talents as a frontwoman and vocalist. In the anime, she gets a warm feeling from watching RONDO's friendly moment and mentions that she should also have friendly talks about future activities with Peaky P-key, only to get flustered when she realized people heard her. She also has a passionate side when talking to her parents, as she has admired them since she was a child.[3] Her parents themselves would lovingly describe her as childish, to the point of worrying that she might need others to look out for her. However, Kyoko manages just fine.
Etymology
Yamate(山手) can be split into two parts. Yama(山), meaning "mountain," and Te (手), meaning "hand."
Kyouko(響子) can also be split into two parts. Kyo(響), meaning "echo" or "sound," and Ko(子), meaning "child."
