Date-chan (伊達ちゃん, Date-chan^?) is a secondary character in D4DJ Groovy Mix and a member of A Bad Cynic Doggo.

Profile

An erratic girl whose age is unknown. For some reason, she is the only member who is repeating a grade.

For better or worse, she's well-rounded and proficient when it comes to music - whether it be track making, arranging songs, rapping, and controlling the flow, she can do it all.^[2]

Appearance

Date-chan has hip-length ashy brown hair with bangs that swoop towards the side and peach colored eyes. She has a tattoo of a bow and arrow on her neck and another of a butterfly on her leg. Her school attire is a white button up shirt with short sleeves, a pleated grey plaid skirt, a beige colored sweater wrapped around her waist, white socks and light green slippers with a bone in the design. Her ears are also pierced.

Background

She is apparently a returnee. She was part of another music unit before her current one.^[3] Aside from working part-time at Club DOGHOUSE, she also performs as a street musician where she freestyles.^[4]

Personality

Date-chan is a girl with a laid-back attitude who always speaks in a monotone voice and quickly turns sluggish due to her unusually low energy, complaining about wanting to go home after she briefly passes out from talking too much. Her solution to keeping herself energized is inhaling sugar, resulting in her body tensing up and varying from slurred mumbling to crazed ramblings, claiming to move to the next dimension on her high. She will do this no matter where she is, even in public places such as family restaurants and cafes as long as she's handed sugar sticks.

Due to her being the oldest, having more music experience, and an inclination to take issues in stride, she tends to give a grounded perspective to her fellow unit members. She is also aware of her good looks.

Etymology

Date (伊達) means "stylish" or "elegance".

• She is the same height as Ibuki.
• Her favorite phrase is "Still legal."^[5]
• According to Bell:
  • Date-chan can sleep everywhere.
  • She was hired by Bell without an interview or resume.
  • Date-chan was an overseas student and can speak English.
• Date-chan is a regular at police stop-and-searches. In the past, she has committed actions that almost made her being charged with crimes.^[6]
• According to Date-chan herself, she has stated that she's "17 years old forever".
