Bessyo Bell (別所美鈴?) is a secondary character in D4DJ Groovy Mix and is a member of A Bad Cynic Doggo.
Profile
She is the daughter of the struggling club "DOGHOUSE" and handles all the accounting, making her a hardworking individual.
Since she has been helping out at the club from a young age, she's skilled in handling DJ and sound equipment and is also good at designing promotional materials and merchandise. While she can brush off most things with a smile, she's incredibly strict when it comes to money.[1]
Appearance
Bell has light grey eyes and waist-length pink hair with 2 sections put into looped braids held by white ribbons, her teeth appear to be quite sharp.
Background
She is childhood friends with Shimazu Shika. Her experience in working at her father's club as a child shaped her to learn many handy skills, especially in management. However, as a result of its ongoing financial struggles, she grew to become meticulous with expenses. Her exposure to talented performers also made her particularly good at pointing out talent.
Personality
Bell is easygoing, yet a cautious realist who gets overwhelmed easily. She is obsessed with numbers, and according to Eimi, she has business books, piggy banks, and even an abacus in her room.[2]
Her skills with equipment and money are so advanced that she can even calculate the cost of goods sold and is the type to split the bill down to the last yen. She is fixated with making a profit to the point that she even jumps at the chance to gamble at a casino and dabbles a bit in trading stocks.[3] Despite this, she has a keen eye for assessing certain qualities, especially when it comes to her unit members' talents and flaws. Though she proves herself to be very capable, Bell tends to downplay her own capabilities, feeling as though she doesn't have enough talent to live up to her unit members.
Etymology
Bessyo (別所) means "a different place".
Her given name (美鈴) is typically read and pronounced as "Misuzu", however due to its nature as a kira kira name, it is instead pronounced as Bell.[4] The kanji of her name itself means "beautiful" and "bell".
