The Old Man is a non-playable character who appears in Breath of Fire IV. He is found eating in the Tavern in Sarai and is part of a minigame, upon the completion of which, he provides vital information to the party.
Role in Breath of Fire IV
He helps Ryu and Nina who are looking for Sandflier Parts by referring them to Information Broker who will in turn then help to gather information on obtaining those desired parts.
A minigame has to be completed where Ryu and Nina buy him drinks and food while raising his happiness value which has to be filled before the food and drink parameter, otherwise the minigame fails. He will give the party a Panacea, impressed by their hospitality.
