Use timing

Use Timing (使用タイミング Shiyō Taimingu) is a characteristic that certain cards and abilities have, determining when those cards or abilities can be used. ARTS, Resonas, assist LRIGs, PIECEs, and abilities have use timings.

There are three use timings:

  • Main Phase (メインフェイズ Mein Feizu): Can be used during the main phase of your turn.
  • Attack Phase (アタックフェイズ Attaku Feizu): Can be used during the pre-attack step of your turn, or the defense step of your opponent's turn.
  • Spell Cut-In (スペルカットイン Superu Katto In): Can be used after your opponent uses a spell and pays its cost, but before its effects are resolved. A player can use multiple Spell Cut-Ins on a single spell, but only one at a time.

A card or ability may have multiple use timings, indicating it can be used at any of those use timings.
