The Life Cloth (ライフクロス Raifu Kurosu) are a set of face-down cards placed between the players and the rest of the table. These represent the player's remaining lives, in which the objective of the game is to eliminate all Life Cloth before striking a final blow.
Each player starts the game with seven Life Cloth. After players draw their starting hand of five cards and mulligan, each player puts the top seven cards of their deck in front of them sideways face down as Life Cloth. A player cannot look at what cards are in their Life Cloth, except through the effects of certain cards.
The primary way of removing Life Cloth is crushing (クラッシュ Kurasshu) it. Whenever a SIGNI or LRIG attacks and the attack goes through, that SIGNI or LRIG deals damage to that player. Dealing damage to a player crushes one of that player's Life Cloth if they have Life Cloth remaining, or causes that player to lose the game if they have no Life Cloth remaining.
Whenever a Life Cloth is crushed, the crushed Life Cloth goes to the Check Zone, where it is checked for a Life Burst ability. If one exists, the player may activate its Life Burst ability. The card then goes to the Ener Zone, regardless of whether the card has a Life Burst or its Life Burst was activated or not.
In addition to dealing damage with attacks, Life Cloth can be removed or crushed by the effects of certain cards, such as that of Fissure of Condemnation or PLUS RUSH. This is not considered to be damage, so it is not affected by effects that prevent damage from being dealt.
In addition, whenever a player runs out of cards in their deck and refreshes, that player puts one of their Life Cloth into the trash, which is not considered to be crushing that Life Cloth. If a game process or effect instructs the player to remove or crush one of their Life Cloth while they have none, nothing happens, and they do not lose the game; only damage can cause a player to lose the game.
A player's Life Cloth is considered to have an order. Whenever a game process or effect tells a player to remove cards from their Life Cloth, the top card of that player's Life Cloth is removed. Whenever a game process or effect tells a player to add a card to their Life Cloth, it is added to the top of that player's Life Cloth.
