The Juggle Saws are crab-based Badniks with cartoonish eyes with black pupils, a gray underbelly, and wield a giant buzzsaw. Their paint work consists of either the colors orange and gray, or light blue and gray in Sonic Mania Plus.
Overview
In Sonic Mania, and its expansion Sonic Mania Plus, the Juggle Saws appear in both Acts of Press Garden Zone. In gameplay, this Badnik always comes in a pair, which will juggle a giant circular saw blade between each other. When juggling, each Juggle Saw passes the buzzsaw between its own pinchers for about a second before passing it onto the other, who repeats this pattern. These Badniks also sit in stationary positions on either the floor, ceiling or walls, but never on the same surface as their partner.
A single Spin Attack is enough to destroy a Juggle Saw. If one of the Juggle Saws is destroyed by the player however, the remaining Juggle Saw will stand there and continually juggle the saw blade between its pincers if they have it, making it tricky to destroy without getting hit. If it does not have the saw blade, it will just stand there helplessly. Defeating a Juggle Saw releases an Animal from inside it.
Powers and abilities
The Juggle Saws are capable of fastening onto and climb vertical surfaces. They are also excellent jugglers.
Weapons
Each pair of Juggle Saws wield a large and lethal circular saw blade which they keep in motion by juggling it around.
Trivia
There is an unused design for Juggle Saw in the files of Sonic Mania which has a more serious face and immobile legs.[3]
