Matin

Matin Catorce, also know as Matin for short, is one of the characters from pop'n music 16 PARTY♪. She is Nox's older twin sister, (as well as his 2P character) and is a crossover character from a BEMANI project, Zektbach.

Profile

Matin is the queen from a faraway kingdom, who was separated from her twin brother, Nox, in birth. Matin is a gentle soul to everyone, albeit she has hardships relating to her personal life. When she ultimately met Nox, both of the twins are reluctant to each other, until warming up to each other in slow pace.

Plot Relevance to Party Mode

The story of Nox Catorce and Matin Catorce principally intertwine in the Zektbach series, as their story in pop'n music portable 2's Party Mode is considered to be its own thing. Click here for the full story of Matin.

Prior to the events of Party Mode, Matin met Yuli, who explained about the Carnival Party hosted by Mimi and Nyami. Matin is then escorted to the party by Yuli, and been introduced to the duo.

In the story for the Christmas Party, Matin heard the news that Mimi and Nyami found Nox as her long lost brother, shocking her and making her hesitant to participate in the party. After some time has passed, she and her brother slowly reconcile in the party, before the twins leave by passing down a farewell note and a yellow Pop-kun Doll. As stated by Yuli, bot Nox and Matin are fated to fight each other, before one of them stand alive.

With the song crossing over from IIDX, Nox and Matin are participating in pop'n.
I thought that this duo should both be included here, so I asked the staff to let me draw them both.
Thank you very much to the staff for listening to my selfishness.
I tried to express unique aspects and appearances in their animations that couldn't be seen in the IIDX movie.
When I moved them, I think both their hearts were expressed well.

Appearance

Matin, as a twin, shares the traits with Nox: long, beige hair and teal eyes. She wears a formal and elegant dress with the black torso section and a red emblem on it, connected to her powder blue sleeves and layers. She is accessorized by large, matching roses on each side of her hair and is portrayed by wielding a sword with the red emblem on it.

General

• Matin shares her birthdate with Kraft?, Uncle Jam, and her twin brother Nox.
• On her FEVER! animation, Matin's sleeves are mistakenly colored as white instead of powder blue.
• Matin and Nox have a shared Dance and Lose animation, in addition, her FEVER! animation is very similar for both characters.
  • They are two of the few (if not only) characters to share an animation.
• In the Blind Justice drama CD, Matin confirmed that she was born before Nox, so, she is the "older" twin.
• In a pop'n music poster, she is resembling her apparition in the Ristaccia video, taking her sword Trisagion from the gem in her chest.
• Her height is 149 cm, her weight is 44 kg, and she is 14 years old. Matin is revealed to be right-handed, and has an pendant in her right ear.
• In her FEVER! Win animation, when Matin is played, she comes out first, then Nox. Nox's animation is the opposite.

Etymology

• "Matin", unlike Nox's name, means "morning" in French language. As for the surname both Nox and Matin share, "Catorce" is "fourteen" in Spanish, further affirming her age.
