Nox

Nox Catorce, also know as Nox for short, is one of the characters from pop'n music 16 PARTY♪. He is Matin's younger twin brother, (as well as her 1P character) and is a crossover character from a BEMANI project, Zektbach.

Profile

Nox is a young prince from a faraway kingdom, who was separated from his twin sister, Matin. Even though he is a formal gentleman, he has a disdain of the ruler who brought misery against him and other who he loved. But when the ruler is revealed to be his twin sister, Matin, he hesitantly and slowly warms up to her, due to the reality that she is his family.

Plot Relevance to Party Mode

The story of Nox Catorce and Matin Catorce principally intertwine in the Zektbach series, as their story in pop'n music portable 2's Party Mode is considered to be its own thing. Click here for the full story of Nox.

Before the events of Party Mode, Nox is encountered by Robin & Cock during their adventures, before they told him about the Snow Festival Party. He then decided to go to the Snow Festival Party, where he is introduced to Mimi and Nyami.

Alongside the invitation to the Christmas Party, the two girls gave him information that Matin is his twin sister, and is the queen of her kingdom, shocking Nox at first. He then reluctantly accept the invitation to talk to his sister in the flesh. And then, the twins meet each other, slowly reconciling, despite of their conflicts. After the Pop'n battle, both Nox and Matin disappeared, leaving both a farewell note and a yellow Pop-kun Doll for Mimi and Nyami. Both of these items hint that the twins are eternally stuck in a fate to fight against each other, until a victor remains.

Hello, I'm MAYA.
With the song crossing over from IIDX, Nox and Matin are participating in pop'n.
I thought that this duo should both be included here, so I asked the staff to let me draw them both.
Thank you very much to the staff for listening to my selfishness.
I tried to express unique aspects and appearances in their animations that couldn't be seen in the IIDX movie.
When I moved them, I think both their hearts were expressed well.

Appearance

Nox takes the figure of a young adolescent with beige hair, styled in a long, thick braid. He has teal eyes, but they changed to red, when he has the ability to summon a mysterious power from his sword. He wears a velvet purple, long-sleeved top, blue pants, and brown boots. Nox wields a dark bronze, simple sword, which is officially named Tyrfing.

General

• Nox shares his birthdate with Kraft?, Uncle Jam, and his twin sister Matin.
• In Blind Justice Drama CD, Matin confirms that Nox was born after her, so, Nox is the "younger" twin.
• Nox is canonically 14 years old, measured 159 cm in length, and weighted 45 pounds. He is seen left-handed, when holding his sword, and has a pendant in his left ear.
• Nox and Matin have a shared Dance and Lose animation, in addition, his FEVER! animation is very similar.
  • They are two of the few (if not only) characters to share an animation.
• In his FEVER! Win animation, Nox comes first, then Matin. Matin's animation is the opposite.

Etymology

• In the Latin language, "Nox" is a translation for "night", the antithesis for Matin's "day". As for the surname he and his sister share, "Catorce" is Spanish for "fourteen", confirming his age.
