Wikstrom

Wikstrom is a member of Kalos' Elite Four group. He specializes in using Steel-type Pokémon. In the Battle Chateau, he is known as a Duke, one of the highest of ranks overall.

Appearance

Wikstrom is a tall, heavily built man with black spiked hair and pale skin. His eyes are bright blue. He is fully clad in silver and gold knight's armor, and he has a six-pointed golden star on his forehead.

Personality

Wikstrom is a kind and noble trainer. He gracefully accepts defeat after battling with the player, and possesses great wisdom. He speaks almost fully in a medieval dialect, wearing a knight's armor as testament to his high honor and courage.

Etymology

The name Wikstrom comes from "strong" and the flowering shrub genus "Wikstroemia".

His Japanese name, Ganpi, comes from 頑丈 (ganjō, Japanese for "sturdy" or "strong") and Ganpi, a type of Japanese shrub.

Biography

The player character can challenge Wikstrom in the Kalos League since he is a part of the Elite Four. Wikstrom will use four Pokémon which are all Steel type.

Trivia

  • After being defeated, one of Wikstrom's lines contains the phrase "my will, which even shakes spears." This is likely a reference to the famous English Elizabethan and Jacobean playwright William Shakespeare, given Wikstrom's antiquated manner of speaking.
