Renegade Roundup is a battle mode which appears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Gameplay
Renegade Roundup is essentially the Mario Kart equivalent of Cops and Robbers. Each player is divided into two teams: the authorities and renegades. The authorities must capture every renegade on the battle arena by using the potted piranha plant attached to their vehicles while the renegades need to avoid getting caught. Any captured renegades will be placed within cells located throughout the arena and can be freed by their teammates via driving over switches under the jail cell(s).
The battle will be over by two factors: the authorities win if every renegades are captured while the renegades win if at least one team member is still not caught throughout the duration of the battle.
