~ The Mandalorian Creed and Paz's last words. |
Paz Vizsla was a major supporting character in The Mandalorian, being a member of The Children of The Watch. While in the first season Paz was a supporting heroic character, when Din Djarin returned with the Darksaber, Paz challenged him to combat for it, and then openly held Mando in contempt after he became an apostate. After redeeming himself to his people, and later aiding in the rescue of Paz's son, Vizsla would fully become a heroic character from that point on, displaying a great deal of honor and selflessness.
Personality
Originally, not much was known about Paz Vizsla except that he held firm to the Mandalorian Creed, and as such, he never hesitated to protect his kin no matter who the enemy was. After the Children of The Watch were forced to relocate, he took he opportunity to challenge Din Djarin for the Darksaber, claiming it was his birthright to wield it. After he was defeated, and later Din's exile, he showed deep dislike towards him, showing that while he held true to the Creed, he also held true to the controversial beliefs of his people.
Still, some time later when Din successfully bathed in the waters of Mandalore and earned redemption in the eyes of the group, Vizsla did not accept it readily. Later, when a monster kidnapped his son Ragnar, Paz showed great appreciation and respect towards Din and Bo-Katan, deeply thankful in the rescue of his son. This newfound respect lead to him readily joining their side from that point onward. Even as the Mandalorians began reuniting, Paz, still a believer of the ways he was raised, ended up having a fight with Axe Woves over their conflicting beliefs, but the two were stopped by Grogu before the fight got out of hand.
Vizsla would ultimately hold to the Creed until his last breath. When the Mandalorians were ambushed and in danger of being eradicated, he held off the enemy ambush until every last Mandalorian successfully escaped, showing true bravery and honor against the overwhelming odds. He then took it one step further, and would give his life in order to ensure his kin couldn't be followed, giving his all in a heroic last stand.
