Raki is a character in Dragon Quest X. Despite looking like a child, Laki has a great sense of duty, in particular when it comes to fulfill the orders given to him by his master, whom he sees more like a father figure.

Biography
Laki is the divine beast of the creator deity of Zenias, Zenus the Great Architect, Raki lived peacefully alongside his creator and his two daughters, Luciana and Zenesia, until the evil Jia Kut Clan invaded Zenias to obtain the Power of Creation. Sensing their imminent defeat, Zenus sent away Luciana, and then sealed Zenesia away to protect her, as he unleashed his final resource, the Curse of Unmaking. The Jia Kut were driven off, but now Zenias faced the danger posed by the out of control curse pouring out of Zenus's body; as such, he sealed himself deep beneath the earth in a deep slumber, after strictly ordering Raki to not directly interfere with neither the mortals left on Zenias nor the seal put on Zenesia.
Raki first saw the Hero and director Dura when the pair accidentally first reached Zenias through a device left behind by the Jia Kut Clan. Later, when the Astoltian Ember Explorers reached Amalark, Raki, in his human form approached the group, asking them to join him in Habia Quarry. There, he vaguely explained how he had watched the Fluzula attack people for a long time, unable to interfere due to his orders, so he asked the Ember Explorers to save Amalark. To do so, he revealed the Fluzula's weakness to the Power of Creation, with Jiganf tying it to the martial artist's concept of chi, giving them a chance to retaliate against the monsters before they wiped out Amalark.
Later, in his divine beast form, Raki was seen seemingly threatening the last inhabitants of the Waldo Region, his presence having become something akin to a bogeyman for them, as, to protect them from the Curse, which was originating from nearby, Raki would not allow any of them to leave the crumbling and half-submerged settlement. However, when the Ember Explorers got near Angel Falls, Raki violently tried to keep them away from Zenus's resting place, refusing to entertain the idea that Zenus should be put down in order to stop the Curse of Unmaking to spread any further. Defeated in their first battle, Raki was about to assume his divine beast form, before Goddess Zenesia intervened, trapping him in an energy bubble to give him time to cool off.
However, Raki's will to protect Zenus was so strong, that when the Ember Explorers reached the sleeping deity, Raki broke his containment, and attacked the group a second time in his beastial form. Defeated and badly hurt, Raki still was steadfast in putting his life on the line to protect Zenus, ending up ensnared and almost erased by the Curse of Unmaking, before he was saved by Zenesia's timely arrival. Barely standing, Raki decided to retreat for the time being; meanwhile, Zenesia, having been informed of Luciana's demise, decided to, instead to put an end to her father, to work alongside the people of Astoltia, Luciana's effective children, to save him form his affliction.
