Kourin is a character in Dragon Quest X.

Biography
The hatching of Kourin, well as his growth, was the test planned by the people of Tenseikyo for the elven swordsman Haku, who named him after his long departed best friend. Unfortunately, someone sabotaged the trial, and Kourin was infected with evil energy making him losing control. Fortunately, they were able to expunge the evil energy from him, and Kourin returned to his peaceful self.
Later, he assisted Haku and the other resurrected heroes during their war against the Jia Kut Clan, all the way until Haku's return to the afterlife, an event that Kourin himself is not aware of.
