Kyronos is the main villain of Version 4 in Dragon Quest X.

The living manifestation of the time powers of Kyurex sealed away in the Time Parabox, warped by evil human desires, Kyronos manipulated Padre, the Hero's biological father, by making him awaken certain evil beings sealed away in the past, so that Kyronos could absorb their power and become a god of time, causing several time paradoxes in the process.

Etymology

The name Kyronos is an obvious reference to "Kronos", the father of Zeus in Greek Mythology. The name also contains a "Y", when referring to the boss fight.

Trivia

  • His design is similar to Corvus from Dragon Quest IX, both are villains in cocoons hanging above a darkened sky, have an evil angelic design, and manipulate the events of their respective stories. (Reviving the Gittish Empire to get revenge on the mortals and Celestrians, brainwashing Padre to free certain evils, and then controlling Marone to finish the job)
  • Kyronos is the second final boss to not belong to the ??? family, the first being Nadraga, while the third is Jia Red Genos.
    • However, it is only his first forme that he has the honor.
  • Kyronos is also similar to Frieza and Cooler, both originating from the Dragon Ball franchise.
