Biography

Dragon Quest X

The five-year champion of the Rangao Village fighting tournament and Mjoll's childhood friend and fiancé. He fought Aroldo two years ago for her love but is corrupted by Demon Zongaron's power and seeks to release him. He is the first boss if the Hero chooses to be revived as an Ogre. After defeating him he regains his sanity thanks to a mysterious bright light, and Zongaron is sealed away once again.

Feeling ashamed for having fallen under Zongaron control, Jiganf left the village, allowing Mjoll and Aroldo to date. He took a journey to train himself and become stronger, in order to one day defeat Zongaron. However, when he later learned that the Hero had already defeated him once and for all, Jiganf, blaming himself for his tardiness felt lost and without purpose. As such, when he heard of the Astolian exploration team for the unknown new world of Zenias, Jiganf took the occasion immediately, in order to put his newfound strength to good use. He still felt deeply ashamed for his previous behavior, and hated being referred as the martial tournament champ, feeling it was undeserved.

Alongside Mereade, Jiganf arrived at the doorsteps of Amalark, but the inhabitants, having never seen an Ogre before, turned them away in fear. Later on that night, a black-clad knight, Ilseem, came to check who the mysterious strangers were, engaging in a battle against the group to test if Jiganf really wasn't a monster.
