Tohoku Zunko (東北ずん子) is a Japanese Song Voice developed by AH-Software Co. Ltd. in collaboration with SSS LLC., and was released for CeVIO AI in January 2022.[1][2] She was originally released for VOICEROID+ in September 2012 as a Talk voicebank, with an update to VOICEROID+ EX in October 2014. She received a singing voicebank for VOCALOID3 in June 2014, with an update to VOCALOID4 in October 2016. She later received a text-to-speech voicebank for VOICEPEAK in January 2023 and a singing voice library for VoiSona in June 2024.[3]
Her voice provider is Satomi Satō (佐藤聡美).
Concept
Zunko is a high school student in her 2nd year. Her special ability is "Zunda Arrow" which transforms any kind of mochi into zunda-mochi.
Her hobbies are archery and making cakes, particularly zunda-mochi. Her dream is to own her own "Zunda Café" in Tokyo as well as a "Zunda Shop" in Akihabara. This was mentioned in a short bio that was included in her strap.
Etymology
Her family name, "Tohoku", comes from the Tohoku region in which she was made to support after a tsunami struck the area in 2011. Her first name, "Zunko", is derived from "zundo" mochi.
Appearance
Tohoku Zunko is a young woman with long green hair and amber eyes. An ahoge sticks off the side of her head under a green headband. Her outfit is a white and green kimono with the sleeves bunched up and tied back by a red ribbon. Over her kimono, she wears a black muneate (a chest guard used in kyūdō). Her dark purple obi is tied into a bow in the back. On her feet are sand-colored zori with white tabi.
Zunko's appearance is based off of Zunda mochi, a type of mochi (rice cake) with sweetened green soybean paste. It is a local specialty in the Tohoku region.
