True Villains

True Villains was a band from Season 18 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Semifinals.

Background

True Villains is a five-member rock group from Nashville, Tennessee. Fueled by anthemic choruses, percussive punch, amplified riffs and the larger-than-life vocals of frontman Beau Lastavich, True Villains deliver hard-hitting music that revitalizes the swagger of their heroes for the modern world. The group consists of Tim Venerosa (guitar), Matt Carter (drums), Greg Herndon (keys) and Beau Lastavich (singer), all of whom have paid their dues as a working-class live act, playing four-hour hometown shows multiple times a week. In a town filled with solo artists and country stars, they’ve become something refreshingly different - a band rooted in the dark, driving sounds of rock ‘n’ roll’s heavyweights from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. The band decided to perform after encouragement from one of the bandmate’s mothers, and they received a standing ovation from the “AGT” audience for their epic rendition of Billie Eilish’s “bad guy.”

Audition

True Villains' audition in Episode 1808 consisted of singing a rock cover of Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy". All 4 judges voted "Yes", sending them to the next round.

Deliberations

The group was chosen to advance to the Semifinals.

Semifinals

True Villains' Semifinals performance in Episode 1810 consisted of singing their original song named "Dead to Me". Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara gave them standing ovations. They did not receive enough votes to enter the Top 5 of the night in Episode 1811, eliminating them from the competition instead of Mitch Rossell.

Trivia

  • True Villains are the only act who opened a Semifinal show in Season 18 to fail to reach either the Top 3 or the Top 5 in America’s Vote.
