Mitch Rossell

Mitch Rossell was a singer from Season 18 of America's Got Talent. He finished in 3rd place in his Semifinal week.

Background

A country singer from East Tennessee, Mitch has worked with artists such as Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. He recently made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry. His dream is to play on stadiums as he believes that would be an amazing experience for him to have.

When he was young, Mitch and his father connected through music and his father bought him a guitar however he was too rambunctious and didn’t want to learn how to play.

When he was ten years old, Mitch lost his father in a drunk driving incident where a drunk driver hit his grandfathers vehicle which saw his grandfather hit into his fathers lane which saw his father, grandfather and grandmother in law each lose their lives.

Mitch found the next few years challenging but after high school one day he sat down wanting to connect with his fathers spirit and finally decided to learn how to play the guitar as it were the only thing that he’d remembered his father ever asking him to do. By doing so he felt as if he were making his father proud and even began playing shows on the weekend for tips in order to pay his bills.

He wrote his own music for several years and never wrote a song about the loss of his father until he had a son of his own as he believed that this finally provided him with the ability to write a song about the experience of losing his father at a young age and being that full circle.
