Currently residing in Detroit, Philip was inspired to play violin by watching Itzhak Perlman on Sesame Street.
Philip works as a project manager and auditioned for the show as he is a father of three and he wants to teach his children that it’s never too late to chase their dreams.

He received enough votes to enter the top 5 of the night in Episode 1815 instead of Barry Brewer Jr. and Trigg Watson, but did not receive enough votes to enter the top 3, eliminating him from the competition along with MOS instead of Mzansi Youth Choir, Putri Ariani and Warrior Squad.
