Steel Panther was a band from Season 18 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Semifinals.
Background
Formed in 2000, Steel Panther began to gain popularity on the legendary Sunset Strip, where the band played weekly shows at Hollywood's infamous Viper Room and Key Club, performing covers of hair-metal hits while sharing their passion for the bands that made the songs famous. Steel Panther has released five full-length albums, toured across the world, achieved platinum-level YouTube status and appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," "Larry King Now" and "FOX NFL Sunday." Now, as the quartet is ready to release their sixth full-length album, they're eager to showcase their love of rock and roll and heavy metal while reaching a new audience on the "AGT" stage.
Audition
Steel Panther's audition in Episode 1801 consisted of performing their original rock song "Eyes of a Panther". All 4 judges voted "Yes", sending them to the next round.
Deliberations
The group was chosen to advance to the Semifinals.
Semifinals
Steel Panther's Semifinals performance in Episode 1812 consisted of performing their original song "Death to All But Metal" with altered lyrics given the family-friendly nature of the show. Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell gave them standing ovations. They did not receive enough votes to enter the top 5 of the night in Episode 1813, eliminating them from the competition along with Erica Coffelt instead of Murmuration.
Trivia
- It is likely that Steel Panther had requested to be placed in week 2 of the live shows as the remaining live show dates (including the final) conflicted with a planned concert tour in Canada.
