The T-90S (Export variant of T-90/T-72BU) is a Soviet-made main battle tank of North Korea that is available in Wargame: Red Dragon.
History
The T-72BU is a further development of T-72 with advanced systems from T-80U being fitted into T-72 as well as several other upgrades. It was first produced in 1993 as the T-90 and saw first live combat in 1999. The T-90S is the designation of export variants for the T-90, and its performance is in fact not as good as the latter. Both of them actually belongs to the post-Soviet era.
In real life, North Korea has not yet confirmed getting the T-90S, although there have been some speculations about it. In August 2001, Kim Jong il went to Nizhniy Tagil and requested to purchase T-90, but was refused.
Overview
Very similar to the Soviet counterpart, this tank is the epitome of the North Korea's armoured force, also the only superheavy available to the Red Dragons. With good all around armour, the T-90S makes a formidable attack force in between the mostly outdated Type 59 and T-62 (Ch'ŏnma-ho) variants.
Unfortunately, unlike the Soviet T-72BU, this variant lacks the dreaded ATGM, making it an essentially up-armoured T-72B1, and therefore losing the range advantage against NATO top-tier tanks.
Also, being a high valued tank means that the enemy will do everything in its power to remove it from play so use the unit wisely - even with the highest armour in the game, it will succumb to determined attacks.
