ATS-103

The ATS-103 is a prototype North Korean Tank Destroyer that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.

History

Firstly, it should be pointed out that "ATS-103" is a Western term and in a certain sense is incorrect: because the caliber of the Soviet BS-3 anti-tank gun is 100mm,but it is mistakenly written as 103mm in game and many Western materials.

In real life, there is great controversy over the gun model used by North Korea's self propelled anti-tank guns based on VTT-323 or ATS-59 chassis, including 85mm ZiS-5 and Romanian 100mm A407.

In the 2016 North Korean Artillery Competition, this anti-tank gun seemed to have been written as 76mm, but it may only have been an error in shooting the ZiS-3. If it is indeed 76mm, then it will be developed by North Korea itself.

Overview

Being a 30 point Tank Destroyer vehicle, it has some cost-effectiveness, but the positioning of the unit is unclear: The 13 AP Power and range of 2100m cannot threaten medium to high-level tanks, and neither Red Dragon nor North Korea lacks cheap firepower support vehicles. More importantly, there are many more useful units in the Vehicles slot, which makes the ATS-103 almost extinct in multiplayer battles.
