Su-76M

The Su-76M is a North Korean Tank Destroyer that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon. This is a self-propelled artillery used by the Soviet Union during World War II.

History

At the beginning of the Korean War, each division of the Korean People's Army was equipped with about 12 SU-76s in the form of a battalion. The total number varies by source, with 75, 132, and a relatively reliable 176.

By August 1950, these guns were either destroyed by US air strikes or retreated to the rear due to a lack of fuel, accessories, and ammunition. In October, a US military report showed that a total of 239 T-34/85 and 74 SU-76M wreckage had been counted on the battlefield.

Starting in September 1951, the Chinese PVA also equipped 64 SU-76s and formed four armored regiments. Even if these equipments were later transferred to North Korea, the emergence of SU-76s in a large number during the Cold War was quite incredible.

On the other hand, the ZIS-3 is still used by North Korea as a coastal artillery until now, although its ability is highly questionable.

Overview

Although the 15 r/min ROF can only be described as "superhuman", SU-76M is still unable to perform the tasks of even infantry support due to its extremely low accuracy, HE Power, and inability to fire when moving. The Range of 1575m is also the same as many APCs. Moreover, its Top Armor of 0 can easily be destroyed by rockets or mortars.

Red Dragons does not lack cheap tanks, choosing SU-100 is also an alternate option.
