Bekori is a minor antagonist in the manga/anime series, One Piece. He is the former tyrannical king of the Sorbet Kingdom and a fanatical supporter of the Celestial Dragons. He is responsible for the severe economical downfall of the kingdom by diving Sorbet in two, leaving the southern half of the island a lawless, chaotic place with no rights and constant brutal subjugation by the north.
Personality
Completely inept at ruling and near mindless in his devotion to the wickedness of the World Nobles, Bekori was a monstrously cruel and brutal tyrant. Not caring about the lives of his citizens nor the well-being of his own country, his only interests in life were acquiring more money to both hoard for himself and pay the Heavenly Tribute.
He also believed himself to be superior to all others bar the Celestial Dragons, and was an utter coward yet this was hidden behind immense arrogance. Every time he tried to take the kingdom back by force he was met with sound defeat, yet kept coming back even more deranged and angry than before as he doesn’t learn from his mistake.
History
He became a king of Sorbet Kingdom 25 years ago after his predecessor, Bulldog, He created a system that causes the north to be rich and the south to be poor area. He would then regularly commit atrocities against the south including but not limited to; enslavement, ethnic cleansing, and violent oppression.
Three years later, he enslaved the elderly from the south, and this caused Kuma to act in defiance, which got him and his friends imprisoned. Bekori was eventually overthrown by Bartholomew Kuma, who also freed the prisoners.
16 years later after his policy backfired, he returned to reclaim his kingdom by burning the southern part of the region that he got from the idea from Goa Kingdom. This action caused all the citizens to act in disgusts only for Bekori to order his soldiers to kill few of them. Kuma, anger by his cruelty, battled alone against Bekori and his army and overthrow him by destroying the castle what become was the Solo Revolution.
After Kuma was declared the king, Bekori made a propaganda that made Kuma declared a tyrant while he himself was a benevolent ruler. Bekori made one last attempt to kill Kuma, who was sailing alone to find a cure for his daughter, Jewelry Bonney, after he relinquished his title to Bulldog, with using a few fleet of Marines ship to sink that ship only for the latter to easily destroy all those ships as he had have enough of his cruelty.
