Aspheera is one of the two main antagonists (alongside General Vex) of Season 11: Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu as the main antagonist of the Fire Chapter, the overarching antagonist of the Ice Chapter, and a major antagonist in Season 15: Crystalized in the animated series LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
She is an evil Serpentine sorceress and the leader of the Pyro Vipers. She sought revenge on Master Wu and later joined the Council of the Crystal King.
She was voiced by the late Pauline Newstone, who also voiced Frieza in the Ocean dub of Dragon Ball Z. In Crystalized, she was voiced by Kathleen Barr, who also voiced Queen Chrysalis and Trixie Lulamoon in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Whiparella in the Nexo Knights series, Kevin and Marie Kanker in Ed, Edd n' Eddy, Eris, Laverna, Gwyllion, and Lydia in the Barbie series, Enchantra Yagami in Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch, Gelorum in Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers, Roodaka in Bionicle 3: Web of Shadows, and Triceachops in Super Dinosaur.
Appearance
Aspheera is a female Serpentine with yellow eyes with orange-red irises and an Indian cobra-like resemblance to King Mambo. Her body is covered with dark teal-green scales and has a tail instead of legs. Her arms are the same teal color as her silver gloved ones. She wears a unique beige and gold dress underneath her golden armor with Indian cobra head shoulder pads. When given Kai's elemental powers, she has golden scales, a flaming cobra hood, and a flaming golden tail. When empowered by the Overlord, her hood transforms into the same purple crystals, pink eyes with light gray iris and dark gray scales. She also wears the same armor of the Crystal Council, which includes purple sleeves, a metallic gray body with glowing purple and pink accents, and the Overlord emblem in the center.
When she was young, she had a yellow and black bee mark on her forehead, red eyes with dark red pupils like all other Hypnobrai, and she had no armor covering her chest.
Personality
At first, in her youth, Aspheera was charming but very manipulative, cunning, and arrogant. She also craves power as she overthrows Mambo V in an attempt to create her empire and conquer lands.
After serving millennia in prison, Aspheera desires revenge against Wu for trapping her and has sought to make him pay.
She is impulsive and very impatient. As seen when she spilled artifacts while searching for the Forbidden Scrolls Spinjitzu and when she chased Char for asking him who the "Traitor Traitor" was. Unlike most villains, she doesn't seek to dominate Ninjago, as she has done before when she despises conquering what she considers weak.
After the defeat, she calmed down when she met Wu again and just commented on the situation. She shows a willingness to accept defeat because she knows that her actions upset Wu by not sending Zane back to Never-Realm, where she intends to trap Wu.
She seems to have become somewhat mentally unstable during her imprisonment in the Kryptarium Prison, and her desire for revenge multiplies, forcing her to repeat the word "revenge" whenever prompted, laughing devilishly in doing so.
Aspheera also feels betrayed by everyone around her so she is surprised and shocked when Lloyd keeps his promise to show her the exit of the hangar if she drains Nya's powers.
Biography
Past
Aspheera was once a sorceress in training in service of King Mambo the Fifth. When Wu and Garmadon were imprisoned for breaking the law and wandering into the Serpentine lands, she offered to free them in exchange for teaching her Spinjitzu. They agreed and Aspheera freed them, although Garmadon was not going to keep the promise Wu felt he should. Overtime, Wu taught Aspheera Spinjitzu (if she promised not to use it for evil) and the two started to become friends.
However, Wu found out that Aspheera broke her promise and used her knowledge of Spinjitzu to overthrow King Mambo. Seeing his mistake, Wu pleaded with Garmadon for help and they went to stop Aspheera after stealing the Scrolls of Forbidden Spinjitzu from their father.
When they arrived at the Pyramid, they heard Aspheera was planning on taking over Ninjago and renaming it after herself. They confronted her and used the scrolls to defeat her and her followers. After King Mambo was restored to his rightful place as king, he decided to punish Aspheera by entombing her magically until her sins were forgotten. When Wu confronted Aspheera in her cell, she pleaded with him to let her out, but he refused. Angered, Aspheera dubbed Wu a "treacherous deceiver" and vowed revenge.

Aspheera appears in Zane's dream and kills him in it, revealing her plan. She appears in a different dream, fighting Zane.
Released By The Ninja
After the Ninja complete the puzzle, they free Aspheera, who reveals her plan and starts to fight the ninja. The ninja end up knocked around by her Spinjitzu. She steals the power of fire from Kai, which overpowers her. She chains the ninja to the wall and escapes. She releases her Fire Fangs and Pyro Vipers, leaving the ninja to their deaths. She then heads for Ninjago city.
Attack on Ninjago City
Aspheera attacks Ninjago city with her Pyro Vipers and Fire Fangs. She starts communicating with them. She notices a sign advertising an exhibit for the scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu. She declares that the traitor used it to defeat her and is encountered by Gayle Gossip and Vinny. She captures both of them, and uses their camera to record her speech, in which she declares her goals. Then she and the Pyro Vipers go to the Museum of History. Aspheera releases Char and more Pyro Vipers and heads for the scroll. Meanwhile the ninja find it first and battle Aspheera, who successfully gets it and leaves. She uses the scroll to locate the traitor and attempts to leave the city, but is ambushed by Zane, Nya and Lloyd, but she defeats them and heads for the monastery.
Final Battle and Defeat
Aspheera attacks the Monastery with her army, but is stopped for a while with the water defense. She finally defeats them and breaks the door and sees the ninja and Wu are gone. She orders her Fire Fangs to search everywhere. She finally finds the door to their hideout, which is a room where the ninja gadgets are created. She finally breaks the door and searches for Wu, and she finds them. She attempts to kill them, but gets knocked away by P.I.X.AL's mech. Aspheera angrily orders her army to attack the ninja and defeats P.I.X.A.L and the ninja, but she's encountered by Zane, Nya and Lloyd, who attacks her. The two have an epic battle but Lloyd loses the scroll. Jay gets the scroll and battles Aspheera but loses it like Lloyd, but Cole gets it and loses as well. Kai gets the scroll but, realizes that he can't use because he's powerless and throws it to Zane.
Aspheera fires at the mech, and thinks Zane is gone with it. Then Zane surprises Aspheera and uses the scroll to freeze her and her army. Zane attempts to give the scroll to Wu, but Aspheera breaks her arm out of the ice and attempts to shoot Wu but Zane pushes Wu and gets shot and disappears. Aspheera throws the scrolls on the ground, accepting her defeat. She is later taken to Kryptarium Prison, and tells Wu that Zane wasn't dead, but rather transported to the Never-Realm, which was what she wanted to happen to Wu instead.
Crystalized:
About a year after Kalmaar's attack on Ninjago and Nya merging with the Endless Sea, the Ninja are soon contacted by Nya to help her and devise a plan to drain her elemental power, but require Aspheera's help to do it, something Wu was against. After Mayor Trustable refused to let her out, the Ninja decided to bust her out of prison in exchange for her help. Although they succeed in freeing her and recovering her staff to drain Nya's powers, they are caught by the New Ninja, who tell the mayor what happened and are declared public enemies 1 through 5.
When they give Aspheera her staff, she initially attacks them, but the New Ninja soon arrive at the monastery. Lloyd then tells Aspheera she can escape using an emergency elevator if she drains Nya's powers. Although she is reluctant at first and thinks Lloyd is lying, Aspheera agrees to this and drains Nya's powers while the others keep the New Ninja busy. Once Nya is returned to normal, Lloyd keeps his words and shows Aspheera the elevator, and she escapes. After the Ninja are arrested for their actions, Aspheera returns to her pyramid and begins making origami snakes. Soon a Crystal Spider appears and gives her a new purple staff. It then shows a projection of a masked person who invites her to join the Council of the Crystal King and have her revenge on the Ninja, which she gladly accepts.
After the Ninja learn of the council being formed, they escape prison with Fugi-Dove and decide to find out the identity of the Crystal King by infiltrating the council. After capturing The Mechanic, Lloyd impersonates him and arrives at the council's meeting. Aspheera is seen at the meeting with Pythor P. Chumsworth, Vangelis, and Mister F, when the former begins to mock her desire for revenge. When the masked figure reveals there was an imposter among them, Aspheera quickly accuses Vangelis before Lloyd is exposed. She attempts to stop him before he is blasted by Mister F, and surrounds him when the figure reveals themselves to be Harumi.
Aspheera and the rest of the council, minus Harumi and Mister F who stay behind, later attack the monastery to steal the Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu. The villains soon gain the upper hand on Wu, Nya, P.I.X.A.L., and Skylor. Before attacking Nya, Aspheera informs her Harumi is alive, much to her shock. The villains soon obtain the Golden Weapons, with Aspheera taking the Sword of Fire for herself. They then set a bunch of Crystal Spiders to explode and destroy the monastery, but Wu and the others manage to escape in time.
After The Overlord was defeated, Aspheera was sent back to Kryptarium Prison for her crimes against Ninjago along with the rest of the council sans Mister F, who was presumably destroyed after being defeated by Zane.
