Vincent Lalo

Billy, if you. . . vanish one day in the future, that must be the moment when you. . . misjudge something.
— Lalo[1]

Vincent Lalo (ビンセント・ラロ, Binsento Raro) was the leader of IDEAL. He stole 50 billion yen from Madarame Baku in an attempt to challenge surpassing the leader, however was denied as Madarame was the one who officially earned the right, leading to the 卍 (Ban) match over the right to challenge surpassing the leader.

Appearance

Lalo had long, light-colored hair. He also had odd, fluffy eyebrows. He normally wore a suit, but in the Protoporos arc he wore the Protoporos crop top with a long coat. His appearance was consistently neat, which followed his obsession with perfection.

Personality

He had a strange obsession with the value of diamonds and the "sin" that they carry.

Lalo had little regard for rules and would do whatever he could to achieve his goals.
He believed talented people were beautiful.

History

Lalo first appears in the story in chapter 67 at the end of Hangman when he calls Kiruma Souichi, telling him to launch the missiles. His next appearance after that is in chapter 77 during Karl's flashback where Lalo is on a phonecall with Karl, describing how Caracal is a perfect right hand man. Lalo then shows up in chapter 113 in Caracal's flashback, where he and Caracal are discussing their planned takeover of Kakerou. He also appears in a flashback of Caracal's history in prison. He showcases his obsession with perfection through stating if Caracal is to "vanish one day in the future, that must be the day you misjudge something". Lalo describes him as "beautiful" while he rampages, which may be the moment he decided to recruit Caracal into ideal.

Lalo is also the man who reunited Voja and Captain Lacy after finding Voja in an orphanage in Novosibirsk. Lalo then proceeds to murder Lacy's wife, Nadia, on Voja's command. He tells Lacy to care for his daughter, Voja, and states that "if her demands are not met, then she'll have to dirty her hands by herself. Lalo insists Voja be cared for and raised properly as he recognizes her value, and possibly had planned for her to act as a hindrance to Kakerou from the point of meeting her.

Plot

Protoporos Arc

Lalo first reveals himself to the main cast in Chapter 324. At the request of Kiruma Souichi, Lalo meets with him Madarame in an undisclosed location, to discuss the terms of his challenging of surpassing the leader. It is here where Lalo finds his challenge is denied, as Madarame is the one who officially earned the right to challenge. This results in the initiation of the 卍 (Ban), and the beginning of the Protoporos arc of Usogui. To show that the meeting is not a setup, Lalo is tricked into sitting on a pin, after which, Madarame and Kiruma both also sit on a pin to show the meeting is genuine.
Vincent's personal referee during the Ban is Nanpou Kyouji. Vincent starts off in the Azura Kingdom. While Baku is playing Encirclement of the Four Gods, Lalo is also gambling in his kingdom's slave house.
