Billy Craig

Boss, no need to worry. . . Once you say "go", I'll get anything for you, even if it's a flower growing on a crater.
— Billy Craig [1]

Billy Craig (ビリー・クレイグ, Birī Kurēgu), who was also known as "Caracal" (カラカル, Karakaru), was the right hand man of Vincent Lalo for Lalo's organization, Ideal.[2] He also worked for the American Embassy.[3]

Appearance

He was an imposing man with short wavy fair-coloured hair, a generally snide expression on his face and was often seen wearing three-piece suits. Underneath his suit hid a visibly powerful and muscular body. However, Billy's most distinguishing feature are his ears which have black birthmark-like markings on them (fitting his epithet).

Personality

Billy Craig was a very proud and domineering individual, enjoying and doing things as he pleased. He was also quite crass and shamelessly racist, referring to the vast majority of the Japanese he encounters as "monkeys" and even openly remarking that he was a "monkey-hating foreigner".[4] Billy is also a bigot; he doesn't like men touching him and dislikes the idea of "groping" a man, but has no problem groping women.[5] He later stated that he hated gambles.

History

Billy was born as "Nicolas" (ニコラ, Nikora), and was a very sickly child who remained in the hospital a majority of the time. Nicolas became friends with Martin Bruce Whyte and were friends until they got into a small argument. When Martin came in to apologize to Martin, he ended up attempting to kill Nicolas at Nicolas's request. Nicolas lived but his life changed forever. Instead of being the kind child he previously was, he started acting less cheerful and began sleepwalking. This sleepwalking developed into Billy's "Caracal" persona that he becomes whenever he falls asleep.

Billy at some point joined Ideal and worked his way up into becoming the right hand man of the organization. He also formed a deep bond with Vincent Lalo.

Plot

Ideal's Emergence Arc

After the events of the Hangman Game (wherein Ideal's stocks were lost), Billy Craig came to Japan to give Kakerou a final ultimatum. He met with Mizue Yuuko, along with backup on both sides, to negotiate terms. No terms were met however, as Billy offered little more than a show of force to overtake Kakerou. Unhappy with this turnabout, He proceeded to fight Mizue, Chris Lee and Ron. Despite the allies beside him being quickly overwhelmed, Billy quickly twisted both of the men's necks for fun. Yakou Jouichi then appeared to take care of him instead and, though they fought for a few minutes, the police violated an intervention ban and began to arrive. Kakerou left Billy Craig to be collected by them as they found out he was a third rank secretary of the American Embassy.

Abilities

Physical Abilities

Billy Craig was an exceptional fighter, capable of equally matching people of incredible combat prowess on numerous occasions, including people like Kyara, Yakou Jouichi and Marco. Billy Craig is also able to exert significantly more strength by falling asleep and becoming caracal.

Relationships

  • Martin Bruce Whyte: He was Martin's childhood friend, until Martin tried to kill him. He eventually lost his memories, and in turn lost all his memories of Martin.
  • Vincent Lalo: He was Lalo's right-hand within Ideal. They were very close, as he was willing to do anything for Lalo and Lalo even thought of Billy right after losing Air Poker.
