Personality

Kushinada is very prideful and overconfident in his strength, which leads to him easily being tricked. He likes doing things alone and his goal is to become referee #0. He also dislikes those who mocks his referee rank.

History

Kushinada has been employed as a referee for four years.[1] At some point during his referee career, he presided over the Labyrinth Game in which the challenger lost his alibi for the day Karasuyama Takashi murdered a couple in an Okinawan resort.[2]

Plot

Kaji's Mother Mini-Arc

Kushinada presides over the gamble between Madarame Baku and Kaji's mother. After Baku wins and Kaji's mom and her boyfriend leave, Baku asks Tetsuma what his referee number is. Baku is unimpressed with Kushinada's rank of #90 and provokes him into a brawl. Baku says that if he wins Kushinada will must like the current encounter never happened. Baku gets into a fighting stance (reminiscent stance from Fist of the North Star's main protagonist, Kenshirō) and while Kushinada is focused on Baku, Kyara sneaks behind Kushinada and knocks him out.

Intermission Mini-Arc

Kushinada is called to preside over a match, unaware that it was a ploy by IDEAL. Kushinada gets kidnapped and is sent to the Grand Canyon. Kushinada regains consciousness after Billy Craig shines the sunlight reflected onto his spork in Kushinada's face. Kushinada is threatened with torture if he does not share information on all the Kakerou members.

KY Declaration Arc

Nowa Mitoshi mentions to Nowa Mitora that Kushinada is still missing. His current status is unknown.

Physical Abilities

Despite not being in the strongest referees, Kushinada's strength is far superior than the average grown adult. As Madarame challenged him into a physical fight, Kushinada demonstrate a hint of his strength by breaking a table with a single punch.
