Captain This situation is evolving as we speak, This is important. A Carrier Tank is arriving. Upgrade or buy better equipment!" - Captain, formerly Wave 27 on Expert Mode |
Description
The Carrier Tank is an enemy encountered on Expert Mode, making its first debut on Wave 30. It has very high health, but is very slow. On death, it spawns multiple enemies due to it being a carrier enemy. All of this makes it a very dangerous enemy for unprepared players.
Carrier Tank can be considered a heavy upgrade to the Truck M2 and an inferior version of the Unstable Vessel.
Lore
"Heavy and lumbering, the Carrier Tank is the perfect choice for transporting soldiers across an arena. The variant you see now is one of many - other variants often include a turret to shoot with."
"Once a rare and unseen design for the next technology of tank warfare, the X faction sought new designs for equipment. The usage of tanks in the traditional military practices encourage them to steal our current tank models, and redesign them to carry troops. A force to be reckoned with."
Appearance
The Carrier Tank now takes on a more sleek and 'rectangular' design, being shorter in height but longer in width. Its windshield is now separated into two sections by a large metal component. A hatch is also found on the roof, in order for the units to enter and exit the tank.
The Carrier Tank is a large futuristic tank with a grey reflective body and neon blue headlights. It has tracks with the wheels being white and tracks themselves being black. It has a 180 degree windshield and a black metal door on its back.
Tactics
- 4-X Snipers are capable of destroying the Carrier Tank due to its high DPS. It is highly recommended to get a group of 4-X Snipers to deal more damage as Carrier Tanks spawn in pairs or triplets in later waves.
- 4-2 Elites are great against this, due to their high DPS and 100% defense pierce. Additionally, it can destroy its shield quickly due to it being able to deal 3x damage to shields.
- Multiple 3-2 Electricizers can quickly destroy this, due to their high DPS and long range. However, it may have issues with dealing the actual spawns due to its slow firerate and it being a single-target tower.
- 4-2 Demolitionist can be used to sweep the enemies that spawn after Carrier Tank gets destroyed. 2-4 DEmolitionist airstrike can also be used, but requires timing.
Trivia
- Originally, a Carrier Tank would spawn a UFO and stun nearby towers, but this was removed in the Blissful Revelations Update.
- The Carrier Tank is most likely inspired by Team Fortress 2's MvM Tank Robot.
- Additionally, it has the same sound effects when spawning and being destroyed.
- A Carrier Tank and a Drone appeared in Factionless Central as props.
- Despite being referred as a tank, the Carrier Tank not armed with any weapons and functions like a dropship rather than a tank.
