Kokuyou ｢哭陽, kokuyō, lit. "Weeping Sun"｣ was a character appearing in the mobile game, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Memories.
Appearance
Kokuyou looked similar to Benimaru, with the notable differences being his black hair with a ponytail, yellow eyes, red horns and different clothing.
Personality
Kokuyou looked down on the Kijin, calling them weak due to being unable to protect their city from the invaders. He aimed to take over Tempest after assassinating Rimuru, build a new Kijin village and reforge the weak Ogres.
Following Izis allying herself with Rimuru, those traits seem to have disappeared and he even willingly assisted Benimaru, Souei and Albis. He even enters a friendly competition with Benimaru to see how many targets they can get with their Hell Flares.
Story
Izis created him out of the regrets of five Kijin: Benimaru, Shuna, Hakurou, Kurobe and Souei. He met his end at the hands of Noir.
Another Kokuyou appears in Loup Loupe but quickly meets his end against Rimuru Tempest. However he would be revived part of Mad City only to die again when he along with the rest of the city dissipated.
He would be revived by Izis a third time using Portfolio to assist Benimaru, Souei and Albis in taking on Carrion Soph only to disappear when his magicules ran out. Izis then resummonned him to retransfer Veldora Against's magicules to Shinsha wherein he used up his magicules and disappeared again.
In preparation for their assault against Cliché, he would train with Benimaru and later spar with Shinsha, disappearing when his magicules ran out.
Trivia
- "Kokuyou" is also the Japanese word for "obsidian" ｢黒曜, kokuyō｣, which is a material used to make the earliest recorded mirror, which literally reflects Izis's own mirror-related powers.
