The Hero first heard about Nolbanos from Astrid when he asked her about the House of Wisdom. She said she didn't know much about it, but that there was someone who did. Maximos Zafir said that there was also a swordsman in that area, so he took a sapling and planted it in Liolta Prairie for the Hero.
When the Hero approached Syldis and Nolbanos, Nolbanos was asking her if he could come closer. She said she wouldn't be able to guarantee his life, explaining that if she felt something will ill will near her, her body would automatically react by pulling out her sword. He answered that he was a saint, an incarnation of integrity and innocence. This continued for a little longer, before she told him to stop declaring his evil passions as they had guests, referring to the Hero. She had noticed them and immediately knew they were the people Maximos had told her about. Nolbanos noted that the Hero looked like Syldis. and she agreed. The Hero replied that he felt she looked like his mother. She said that he might be her descendant.
She apologized for Nolbanos being a man whose head was filled with such malicious thoughts. But he was the leading scholar of magic in the Holy Aionian Empire. The Hero asked if he was the person that Astrid mentioned that knew about the House of Wisdom. Nolbanos asked if the Hero had any problems with that, and wanted to know why he traveled from 200 years in the future to ask about it. The Hero asked if they had any Telluspharma being kept in the House of Wisdom in this time. Syldis and Nolbanos were surprised, with Nolbanos asking where he heard that, which gave away the secret.
Nolbanos said it couldn't be helped and they were not keeping them like pets. They had just sealed some of the captured Telluspharma to use as research materials to find their weak points. It would be to help the battle 100 years in the future. Because theses monsters were so horrible they kept them in a place where humans wouldn't come. However, it seemed that there were talks of moving them to another place soon. The Hero asked where, but Nolbanos said he had no idea.
Syldis said that the rumor that some strange monsters had been seen in a cave nearby. So, just in case, she was there as Nolbanos's escort and guard. Nolbanos disagreed and said the seal on the Telluspharma was perfect, and it was unbelievable that they could escape from the House of Wisdom. Syldis said they must check and asked the Hero to come with her, furthering it would be crazy to go alone. Also, Maximos had asked her to teach the Hero her skill.
After fighting monsters in the area, the Hero was able to learn her skill thanks to them being stars of destiny. Nolbanos was also interested in that, and told the Hero that in addition to being a scholar of magic he was also a magic stone maker. He asked the Hero to bring one of his companions, if possible a beautiful woman.
The Hero later returned with Myura, Ilia, Luceri, and Hermione. Nolbanos was surprised and happy there were so many beautiful girls. He also admitted he was also jealous of the Hero. Luceri asked what he meant, but Ilia soon understood Syldis's words about his malicious will. Hermione asked if she could stab him, but Myura told him her spear would be ruined and rot.
When he asked which one was the magic stone maker, Folune came forward saying she was a magic researcher. He replied that she was a captivating female overflowing with intelligence. He asked her name and then told her he would teach her his skill with great attention to the details. She told him that wasn't necessary, and his skill passed to her in an instant. He complained that it took more time when the Hero learned Syldis's skill. He thought he would be able to spend some close and personal time with her. Folune said he said some strange things, continuing he didn't need to be so upset that they could get results with such minimal time and effort. He said it was fine, and that he was fine thinking that his thing was inside of her. Hermione butted in asking if she really could stab him. Luceri added that if they did it with an arrow they wouldn't have to get close. Myura suggested burning him with fire. Ilia even joined in saying he was greasy and should burn well.
