Spark Unit

The Spark Unit[1] (スパークユニット[2] Supāku Yunitto?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, laser shooting turret-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman.

Appearance

The Spark Units are robots[2] which resemble flying turrets, having a balloon-like top part and a propeller that helps them float in the air. Unlike many other Badniks, the Spark Units have no facial features whatsoever.

Overview

FESONIC5

In Sonic Adventure and its enhanced remaster, Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut, the Spark Unit appears as an enemy, being exclusively encountered in Final Egg. These Badniks are completely stationary enemies that fire a laser field in an attempt to damage the player character. The Spark Units usually come in groups, making avoiding their lasers much harder to do. Like most Badniks, a Spark Unit can be destroyed by most means of attack, causing their laser field to be deactivated. However, unlike many other Badniks, Spark Units will not release any small animals upon being destroyed.

Powers and abilities

Spark Units can fire a high-speed laser field at their foes, as well as being able to float thanks to the propellers on their bottoms.
