Ice Path

Ice Path is a location introduced in Generation II.

Description

It is an ice-filled cave that connects Route 44 and Blackthorn City. It is home to several Ice-type Pokémon such as Jynx and Swinub. The player has to defeat Pryce in a Pokémon battle before they can access the Ice Path.

Strength is needed to push boulders down holes in order to navigate through Ice Path. However, boulders cannot be moved again once they are sunk into the holes.

The Ice Path has several items such as Never-Melt Ice and even the HM Waterfall.

In Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version only, the Kimono Girl Sayo is stuck on ice on B3F. The player has to push Sayo from behind to get her off of the ice before they can exit Ice Path and enter Blackthorn City.
