The Lake of Rage is a location introduced in Generation II.

Description

The Lake of Rage is located in the Johto region. The first time the player comes here, there will be a Red Gyarados (which is the first 100% certain shiny encounter of a Pokémon that is available to catch) in the middle of the lake. Because of the Johto Region only appearing in Generations 2 and 4 (in certain games only), these and Generation 5 are the only generations with a definite shiny encounter.

There is a hidden Max Potion at the northeastern sector of the lake.

There is a hidden Full Restore in the maze of trees.

On Wednesday, Wesley will be at the left end of the tree maze, offering the player a Black Belt.

In the maze of trees, there is a lone house home to a hermit that offers the player a TM10 (Hidden Power).
