Moonsnake

Moonsnakes are an enemy in Super Mario Odyssey.

Profile

Physical description

Moonsnakes have a similar appearance and behavior to the Spike Bar obstacles seen in other games; however, they appear to be made out of stone or rock instead of metal and have a base made out of Moon Rock. They come in different lengths and some have more than one set on a base. Moonsnakes have a white octagon for their "main" segment with the rest of them being composed of dark grey orbs with grey-ish spikes poking out.

Behavior

Moonsnakes are not a living enemy and function more as an obstacle as they rotate around a block in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction, although they can be seen rolling without spinning in some instances. They often appear on the ground.

In Super Mario Odyssey

Moonsnakes are encountered in the Seaside Kingdom, Snow Kingdom, Moon Kingdom, Dark Side, and Darker Side. If Mario makes touches a Moonsnake, he takes damage from the fire. Moonsnakes cannot be destroyed.
