Renjun

Renjun (Korean: 런쥔; Japanese: ロンジュン) is a Chinese singer, lyricist and DJ under SM Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group NCT and its sub-units NCT DREAM and NCT U.

Career

Pre-debut

In 2015, he was cast into SM Entertainment, through the SM Global Audition in Shenyang.[1]

2016: Debut with NCT

On August 25, 2016, he officially debuted as a member of the 3rd unit NCT DREAM, with the single "Chewing Gum".

On March 14, 2018, NCT released their first full album as part of a large-scale project uniting all of its subgroups: NCT 2018 Empathy.

2020: NCT U

On October 12, 2020, he made his official debut under the sub-unit NCT U, as a part of the NCT's 2020 project NCT Resonance Pt. 1, with the song "From Home".

Personal life

Health

On April 13, 2024, SM Entertainment announced that Renjun recently experienced a "worsening of his physical health" and symptoms of anxiety. As a result, his activities with NCT DREAM would be suspended for the time being in order to receive sufficient rest and stability.[2] On April 20, SM Entertainment announced that Renjun would go a temporary hiatus from all activities to focus on treatment and recovery.[3]

On August 9, SM Entertainment announced that Renjun's health had significantly improved and that he would be participating in NCT DREAM's English single "Rains in Heaven".[4] On October 7, SM Entertainment that Renjun would be officially returning from hiatus.[5]

  • Renjun was radio DJ for TBS Radio from August 5, 2019 to October 11, 2020.[6]
  • He doesn't like eating cold things in the morning.[7]
  • He is one of the four members of NCT who was not a part of SM Rookies before the group's debut.[1]
  • He graduated from Beijing Contemporary Music School with full marks, alongside Chenle.[8]
