Capsule Model Pose |
“ | Originull Wasteland is the birthplace of the Beast Pack, so it's no wonder the Awoofies found there are more wild than their far-off cousins. They're more aggressive in every way, from their bark to their bite. Their primal ancestors must be pleased!” |
— Gotcha Capsule Description • Kirby and the Forgotten Land |
Primal Awoofy is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is a larger and more powerful variation of the Awoofy.
Physical Appearance
Primal Awoofies are more intimidating in appearance than Awoofies, resembling a wolf or coyote rather than a fox like the common Awoofy. Compared with regular Awoofies, Primal Awoofies have shaggier fur (most noticeable on the snout, back, and tail) and longer limbs, and they are largely grey in color with a prominent patch of darker fur underneath their snout extending to their bellies.
Games
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Primal Awoofies are low-ranking members of the Beast Pack. They are first seen watching King Dedede trap a Waddle Dee in a cage and commanding the Clocker[1] to send them to Lab Discovera in Winter Horns. When Kirby subsequently fights King Dedede, he commands the two Primal Awoofies present to attack Kirby; a similar event happens with Phantom King Dedede, but there are six Primal Awoofies that attack Kirby instead. They function similarly to regular Awoofies, but they run faster, take less time to recover after missing Kirby, and have more health. They completely replace regular Awoofies in the final two worlds, Originull Wasteland and Redgar Forbidden Lands, though Leongar summons a mix of Primal and regular Awoofies (along with several Rabiroos and a Orabiroo) to attack Kirby in Lab Discovera before the actual boss fight begins. Much like regular Awoofies, they do not grant Kirby a Copy Ability if inhaled.
Enter the Fiery Forbidden Lands features two Primal Awoofies that stand atop of watchtowers; if Kirby gets too close to them, they will howl and summon a swarm of enemies to attack Kirby. Defeating both of these lookout Primal Awoofies is required to complete a mission in the stage.
In addition to appearing to attack Kirby prior to the Leongar fight, a Primal Awoofy is also seen after Fecto Forgo consumes Leongar, where they join a number of other Beast Pack members to attack Kirby and Elfilin. However, Fecto Forgo consumes all of these Beast Pack members to transform into a massive chimera that then attacks Kirby; pieces of both variants of Awoofy can be seen in Fecto Forgo's chimera-like form.
