Abandoned Beach is the seventh stage in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is the first stage of Everbay Coast. It succeeds The Brawl at the Mall and precedes Concrete Isles.
General Information
Kirby sets out across a tropical blue ocean and sandy yellow shores, usually moving through water. At the beginning of the level, Kirby is shown a brief overview of the first area. Here, he must swim through a shallow area with a few Blippers and a Glunk. There is a small shore ahead with a a few more enemies and coins. Shortly after, there is a deeper section of water with some more enemies, as well as a central island patrolled by a Gnawcodile. Off to the upper-right of the island, a Gotcha Capsule is hidden next to some rocks. If the player can get past the Gnawcodile and a Sir Kibble, they can take a Warp Star to the next section.
In this section, Kirby must head to the right, where he is offered a food item as well as Fire and Cutter Copy Essences. After obtaining either ability the player chooses, they are forced to fight Wild Bonkers. Once he is defeated, the player should inhale him and gain the Hammer ability before proceeding to the right, where several bananas are being guarded by various enemies. A door is found right after this, which takes the player to the next section.
Right at the start of the new section, Kirby is provided with a Hammer Copy Essence. He then must make his way through waters filled with several enemies and enormous whirlpools, which will suck in Kirby and send him down into the water, damaging him. Off to the right of the main path is a small rock pillar that must be climbed by jumping between pieces of rock jutting from the pillar. This contains a stake that when pounded opens up a secret area containing a Waddle Dee. When he continues onward, Kirby will find 2 more Gnawcodiles and a ladder leading up to a Capsule. The final area of this room has 3 rotating whirlpools with a Glunk on a crate in the center. Destroying the crate the Glunk is on reveals an Energy Drink, and a door is located right past this area.
In the final section of the level, Kirby is immediately prompted to use the Ring Mouth for the first time. Several enemies are placed in clusters along the path, allowing the Ring Mouth's large, far-reaching attack to be demonstrated. He is also shown how it can be used to spin windmills. Lastly, Kirby is taught how to steer a boat with the Ring Mouth. After the brief tutorial, the goal is right ahead of the dock.
