Empyrean

The Empyrean is a mountainous area in the Dream Kingdom that serves as the fifth level of Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Super Kirby Clash. It introduces Tougher category bosses to the game.

General Information

The Empyrean is a a rocky location set at a high altitude—some clouds float at ground level here. Massive, unnatural spires topped with stars are erected in the background. Sharp rock formations and crystals are also present. The sun shines down from the sky through a thick layer of clouds. In its alternate form, which is used when attempting harder quests, the clouds darken, the sky turns purple, and lightning crackles in the background.

Kirby Fighters 2

The Empyrean appears as a stage in Kirby Fighters 2. It does not have any gimmicks or enemies, and Duo Edge is battled here in Story Mode.

Trivia

The Empyrean reuses the setting and backdrop from Quests 5 and EX of Team Kirby Clash, the sub-game in Kirby: Planet Robobot from which Team Kirby Clash Deluxe is based on.
The Empyrean is named after a location in ancient cosmology. Empyrean is synonymous with heaven or paradise, being a part of the celestial spheres. It is also associated with fire, aether, and God.
- Despite its association with fire and light, the most common Fragment obtainable in the Empyrean in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe is the Water Fragment, most likely due to its association with the sky, where clouds form. In Super Kirby Clash, Light Fragments are now the most common, with Fire and Water Fragments being equally common as each other.
